IL-17A takes an important part in immune responses, particularly in host defense against infections and in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune diseases. IL-17 regulates the activities of NF-kappaB and mitogen-activated protein kinases. Interleukin-17 stimulates the expression of IL6 and cyclooxygenase-2 and enhances the production of nitric oxide. | |
