| Description | |
| EPH Receptor A3 Mouse Recombinant | |
| Synonyms | |
| Ephrin type-A receptor 4, Epha4, Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor MPK-3, Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor SEK-1, Sek, Sek1, EPHA4, EPH Receptor A4. | |
| Introduction | |
| EPH Receptor A4 (Epha4), is a single-pass type 1 membrane protein which is a part of the protein kinase superfamily and ephrin receptor subfamily. Epha4 is a receptor tyrosine kinase which binds membrane-bound ephrin family ligands residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells mainly in the nervous system and in erythropoiesis. | |

Background |
Research on EphA3 in mice has highlighted its critical involvement in the development of the nervous system, cardiovascular system, and skeletal system. EphA3 signaling influences axon pathfinding, synaptic plasticity, and the formation of tissue boundaries, ensuring proper tissue and organ development. Dysregulation of EphA3 has been implicated in various pathologies, including cancer, where it contributes to tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis. |
