Product Overview | |
| Name | Osteocrin Human, HEK |
|---|---|
| Description | |
| Osteocrin Human Recombinant, HEK | |
| Immunogen | |
| Anti-human OSTF1 mAb, is derived from hybridization of mouse FO myeloma cells with spleen cells from BALB/c mice immunized with recombinant human OSTF1 amino acids 1-217 purified from E. coli. | |
| Synonyms | |
| SH3P2, OSF, OSTF-1, Osteoclast-stimulating factor 1, OSTF1, FLJ20559, bA235O14.1. | |
| Introduction | |
| OSTF1 is an intracellular protein produced by osteoclasts that induces bone resorption, via signaling cascade which results in the secretion of factors enhancing osteoclast formation and activity. | |
| Formulation | |
| 1mg/ml containing PBS, pH-7.4, 10% Glycerol and 0.02% Sodium Azide. | |
| Applications | |
| OSTF1 antibody has been tested by ELISA, Western blot analysis, Flow cytometry and ICC/IF to assure specificity and reactivity. Since application varies, however, each investigation should be titrated by the reagent to obtain optimal results. | |
| Type | |
| Mouse Anti Human Monoclonal. | |
| Clone | |
| PAT9G4AT. | |
| Ig Subclass | |
| Mouse IgG2a heavy chain and k light chain. | |
| Purification Method | |
| OSTF1 antibody was purified from mouse ascitic fluids by protein-G affinity chromatography. | |
| Storage Procedures | |
| For periods up to 1 month store at 4°C, for longer periods of time, store at -20°C. Prevent freeze thaw cycles. | |
| Stability / Shelf Life | |
| 12 months at -20°C. 1 month at 4°C. | |
| Precautions | |
| Osteocrin Human, HEK is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. | |
Background |
Research has demonstrated that osteocrin influences bone formation by enhancing the anabolic effects of osteoblasts, the cells responsible for new bone formation. In addition to its skeletal roles, osteocrin has been shown to regulate cardiovascular functions by modulating blood pressure and cardiac hypertrophy. Furthermore, emerging evidence suggests that osteocrin may play a role in the central nervous system, impacting cognitive function and neuroprotection. |
