| Ribosomal protein S2, (RPS2) is a member of the S5P family of ribosomal proteins. Ribosomes, the organelles which catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60 S subunit. Jointly these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally different proteins. RPS2 is a ribosomal protein which is a component of the 40S subunit. RPS2located in the cytoplasm. RPS2 shares sequence similarity with mouse LLRep3. RPS2 has been associated with diamond-blackfan anemia, and herpes simplex. | |
